Experiencing The Panorama Music Festival Powered By HP

Last weekend was the Panorama Music Festival in New York City. HP invited me to review their experiences at the event, and it was quite amazing. Naturally, I have to watch some shows too.

What you see in the image above is HP Lounge. Within that small building, many things were happening. For example, that line you see is for people to design their own personalized water bottles. In fact, the issue of HP was sustainability, so instead of buying plastic water bottles from sellers, you could use your personalized water bottle and refill it all day in the incredibly hot event.

All water bottles were designed in Pavilion x360 laptops. Simply drag your designs to the canvas and color them, and print them on a bottle of water a few minutes later.

Inside the HP Lounge, there is 'Blooming Digital Eden Flowers' hanging from the ceiling. Below them, there is an area where people can sit and relax, or program flowers with ZBook x2 devices. You can program the lighting, the sequence and more.

The last thing that will be explored in the HP Lounge is Light Painting. The subject is given a wand and told not to cover his face with it. I did not hear the instructions. You can then edit your video on an HP Pavilion laptop and send it to your email.

And then there's The Lab. Installed in a different section of the Randall's Island park, HP had all kinds of activations installed there.

Powered by an HP Z440 workstation, Pixel Vortex is great fun. Inside the inflatable structure, there are balls simply bouncing around. Each seam inside is both an entrance and an exit, so it feels like you're sealed.


In the center of Pixel Vortex, there are sensors that you can put in your hands and that will feel your 'aura'. It captures the temperature of the skin and the electrodermal activity, and then takes its image with colors according to its readings.

After his photograph is taken, the artist can explain what his "aura" means and how the Aura camera system works.

The next one is Infinite Wild activation powered by solar energy. This display seems to be a set of LED strips, but the lights are actually reacting to the people inside. In fact, if you sit outside after it gets dark and you watch how the lights interact with the people inside, it's really cool.

Visage was an interesting experience, which basically involves mapping a design on your face. What I found interesting was the hardware that was used. It combined an Xbox One Kinect, a Specter x360 and an OMEN desktop computer.

It was great to see how everything worked.

Another activation was called 360 Dome content. This connected the Oculus VR headphones to the HP desktop PCs, and you would be on stage. The Panorama Music Festival had three different stages, and you can choose the one you want to experience, no matter what is happening. You could be in the middle of a concert, or in the middle of a team configuration.

I asked him why HP did not use his own Windows Mixed Reality Headset instead of a third-party device, and I could not get an answer.

This structure is inspired by the fractal geometry of the Sierpinski icosahedrons. "Welcome everyone to contemplate the humility potential of their existence that occupies the here and now, and the infinitely large and infinitely small worlds that lie beyond their consciousness, waiting to be discovered." Contains three LED floors sensitive to pressure, which reproduce video content. People walking on the floors act different effects and are powered by an HP Z440 workstation.

Finally, The Portal to Flatland is a light show, which is a bit strange at first. They took me inside a room to sit on the floor, not knowing what would come next. Then, the show started, and after that, we were taken to a room with immersive movies.

The next section was in a 360 Dome, which is a "journey that takes us through images that give us a perspective of how we handle the struggles that are in life." This part was really great, partly because it had air conditioning and it was carried out in comfortable chairs.

Finally, it was really great to see the different experiences that HP established and how their different products activated the different activations. This year's theme was nature and sustainability, and I look forward to seeing what the firm has booked for the Panorama Music Festival next year.
